What is million dollar dip?
Million Dollar Dip is a cheese spread that gets some texture and crunch from crumbled bacon and slivered almonds. It is also known as Neiman Marcus Dip because it was first served at the department store’s restaurant.
What is the dip made of?
This party dip has a base of softened cream cheese and mayonnaise and is studded with slivered almonds, cheddar cheese, green onions, and bacon. It gets a little extra punch of flavor from some garlic powder.
Okay, how do I make million dollar dip?
It couldn’t be easier to make this appetizer!
- Toast the almonds in a skillet.
- Blend the cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth.
- Stir in all the other ingredients.
- Serve!
Wholefully Protip
Make sure your cheddar cheese is finely shreddedโit will blend into the dip better, so you are getting a little of every flavor in each bite!
What should I serve with million dollar dip?
One of the great things about this creamy dip is its versatility! Try it with cruditรฉs like celery or carrot sticks, wheat crackers, or butter crackers. We’ve also enjoyed it with pretzels!
Wholefully Protip
Tortilla chips are tasty, but they aren’t quite sturdy enough to stand up to this dip. We recommend saving them for salsa instead!
How far in advance can I make this dip?
Million dollar dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Can I freeze the leftovers?
Sorry, but no. The cream cheese and mayo base does not freeze well. But we don’t imagine you’ll have trouble using up the leftovers!

Million Dollar Dip Recipe
This Million Dollar Dip is cheesy, creamy, savoryโit is the perfect dip for game day!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped (about 8 slices cooked and chopped)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- In a small dry skillet, toast the almonds over medium-low heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly until golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a medium mixing bowl, use an electric mixer on medium-low speed to combine the cream cheese and the mayonnaise until smooth.
- Add remaining ingredients to the bowl and use a spoon to mix until fully incorporated.
- Spoon the dip into a bowl. Garnish with additional cheese, almonds, green onions, or bacon as desired.
Notes
- Finely shredded cheese works bestโtoo large of cheese shreds don't blend into the dip well and can overpower the other ingredients.
- Make sure to use softened cream cheese, or it won't blend well.
- Leftover dip may be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
