This strawberry kiwi smoothie combines two fruit favorites for a filling drink that will be love at first sip. This recipe is versatile, allowing you to swap ingredients while making for an easy, quick meal. Let’s make a smoothie!

What do I need to make a strawberry kiwi smoothie?

This sweet smoothie recipe has no bananas, making it perfect for those of you who can’tโ€”or don’t want toโ€”eat the tropical fruit. To make this strawberry kiwi smoothie recipe, youโ€™ll need:

  • Peeled kiwis. One of the base flavors for this smoothie, kiwi will add a sweet green burst to your smoothie.
  • Frozen strawberries. Using frozen berries allows you to make this smoothie no matter what fruit is in season. It also chills and thickens your shake while cutting down on your prep time.
  • Fresh baby spinach.
  • Canned pears. Use pears canned in their own juice, not syrup. The syrup will be too cloying in the final smoothie, while the pear juice will be just right.
  • Unsweetened nut milk. This can be almond milk, cashew milk, soy milk, or even coconut milk.

Do I need to add ice cubes?

Nope. Cce isnโ€™t needed in this smoothie recipe because youโ€™re using frozen strawberries. The frozen berries work to chill and thicken your smoothie, all while adding delicious strawberry flavor!

If youโ€™re making this kiwi strawberry smoothie in the summer with fresh strawberries, youโ€™ll need to add a few ice cubes in order to chill it instead.

How do I make a strawberry kiwi smoothie?

Smoothies are one of my go-to snacks because theyโ€™re incredibly easy to make and the blender does most of the work for you. Here are the steps to make the perfect smoothie:

  1. Peel your kiwi.
  2. Add your nut milk to the blender.
  3. Follow the milk with the softer ingredients like your fresh spinach, kiwi, and canned pear.
  4. Finish by adding in the frozen strawberries and blending on high until everything is super smooth with a creamy texture.

If your blender’s blade is having trouble, try pulsing a few times before slowly turning it to high.

Can I make this smoothie vegan or paleo-friendly?

This is already a paleo-friendly and vegan smoothie! No changes needed to meet those dietary needs!

Whatโ€™s the best blender to use for my strawberry kiwi smoothie?

If you already have a blender at home, it should be able to whip together this strawberry kiwi smoothie with no problems. However, if youโ€™re looking to invest in a new blender, you canโ€™t go wrong with any of the following.

  • Cuisinart hand blender. This little immersion blender does a great job of making individual smoothies without costing a fortune.
  • Ninja Professional. A little more expensive but still relatively affordable, the Ninja is a perfect family blender if you know youโ€™ll be using it fairly often.
  • Vitamix 5200. The most expensive blender on this list, the Vitamix is well worth the price. This is a professional blender that will stand up to any blending task, no matter how tough.

Is there anything I can add if I want my strawberry kiwi smoothie to be more filling?

This strawberry kiwi smoothie has plenty of nutrients from the fruit, nut milk, and spinach. If youโ€™re looking to add some additional ingredients to make it more filling or to boost the nutrition levels a bit, here are some foods that would work well.

  • Oats. Rolled oats add a bunch of fiber, thickening the smoothie and helping you feel full for longer.
  • Almond flour or almond meal. Like the oats,  almond flour or meal will give your smoothie some more staying power.
  • Baby kale. Spinach isnโ€™t the only dark leafy green you can add to your smoothie. Toss in some baby kale for a boost of vitamins and minerals.
  • Seeds. Ground flaxseeds, hemp seeds, and chia seeds will all add healthy fats to your strawberry kiwi smoothie.

Looking for an easy way to add a bunch of nutrients to your smoothie all at once? Make up some smoothie packs by mixing your favorite smoothie ingredients, freezing them, then tossing them in your smoothie when youโ€™re ready to blend.
