No need for any plates or forks for this dinner! Just serve it on a half-sheet pan covered in parchment paper, and enjoy the easy clean-up.
How do you make nachos crispy?
The key to getting perfectly crunchy and crisp nachos is to bake only the dry ingredientsโanything wet goes on right before serving.
Do you put meat or cheese first on nachos?
Technically, you can do either, but we like to put the meat on first. That way, when the cheese melts, it holds the meat and other ingredients down, making the nachos easier to eat!
What do I need to make these easy beef nachos?
To make these ground beef nachos, you’ll need:
- Ground beef.
- Tortilla chips or plantain chips.
- Cooked black beans.
- Red onion.
- Shredded cheese. We like Monterey Jack, but you can also use cheddar cheese, pepper jack cheese, or dairy-free cheese.
- Spices like ground cumin, garlic powder, cayenne chili powder, and salt.
- Your favorite nacho toppings.
You’re going to brown the beef in a skillet and season it with the spices. Then just line a baking pan with parchment paper and spread out the chips. Top with the beef, beans, and red onion, and then sprinkle with cheese. Bake for ten minutes, and serve with your preferred toppings!
Wholefully Protip
Corn tortilla chips can be hard to digest for some folks. If you want to try some grain-free options to see if your tummy is a bit happier afterward, plantain chips make for great nachos! There is also a brand of grain-free tortilla chips on the market now called Siete. They are made using cassava and coconut flours and holy guacamole, do they taste delicious!
What toppings do you put on beef nachos?
Whatever toppings make your nacho-loving heart happy! Some options include:
- Sour cream (or dairy-free sour cream)
- Salsaโwe love this canned salsa, pico de gallo, or corn salsa
- โGuacamole
- Fresh cilantro
- Sliced black olives
- Pickled jalapeno peppers
- Radish slices
- Diced tomatoes
- Sliced green onions
- โAvocado
Can beef nachos be reheated?
Nachos with toppings can be tough to reheatโhot avocado and salsa aren’t great eats.
Nachos without extra toppings can be reheated, though! To get them back to their crisp, crunchy state, you’ll want to use the oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray it with cooking spray. Spread the nachos out in a single layerโif they are piled up, they will reheat unevenly. Bake at 300ยฐF for 5-8 minutes, or until warm.
